Health Insurance
Health Insurance – is a type of insurance that helps pay for medical expenses. It is a contract between an insurance company and an individual or a group of individuals, where the insurance company agrees to pay for some or all of the covered medical expenses in exchange for a monthly premium.
There are many different types of health insurance plans available, each with its own set of benefits and coverage.
Some common types of health insurance plans include:
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization): HMOs typically require you to see a doctor within their network for most medical care. This can help to keep costs down, but it can also be restrictive if you have a preferred doctor who is not in the network.
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization): PPOs give you more flexibility in choosing your doctors, but they also tend to be more expensive than HMOs.
POS (Point-of-Service): POS plans offer a combination of the features of HMOs and PPOs. You can see doctors in or out of network, but you will pay more if you see a doctor out of network.
Medicare: Medicare is a government-sponsored health insurance program for people age 65 and older, as well as some people with disabilities.
Medicaid: Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program for low-income people.
